Miss Russia burnt her forehead with her hair-thongs. After few minutes of soothing cream and heavy layers of make up on, she looked great.

The German audiences were very sporting, spontaneous and very supportive to every candidate. They went screaming "go Singapore, go!" and also to everyone else. The winner that night was Miss France while Miss Hungary went on to win 1st runner up and me in the 3rd spot.

Miss Singapore was also in the same place of third at last year's event. It should be noted that I am the only Asian in the top 5 round. The best part was celebrating birthday together with Miss Israel and several other contestants.

Miss Teen Malaysia?...I Never Heard About It In This Year of 2000 Era...

Teen quest promoter says no consent yet from sexy, saucy Sophie

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 11:38:00
Sophie Watson
PETALING JAYA: Sexed-up, tattooed and body-pierced 14-year-old Sophie Watson from England has laid bare the ruse of a local teen quest promoter headlining her in an attempted sexualisation of teenage girls here.
In a Facebook chat last night, Sophie - whose rise to "stardom" revolves around a girl her age having sex, drinking alcohol and a body full of tattoos, piercings and permanent make-up - denied any connection with a local events firm promoting the online Miss Teen Malaysia beauty pageant.
She said she had no idea that the firm, TeensInAsia.com, was using her as a "role model" to lure girls below age 18 to enter the contest.
Sophie Watson
"I have no idea .... no connection at all (with anybody in Malaysia)," she said in response to yesterday's Being Frank column that exposed TeensInAsia.com of using her riotous image luring young Malaysian girls to join the teen quest.
In an immediate response, the local partner of TeensInAsia.com, Alan Chow, told The Malay Mail this  morning they had been planning to contact Sophie to get her consent.
Asked if he viewed his events firm's scheme was tantamount to sexualisation of innocent girls, Chow said: "I have pulled out of the partnership (with Australian Khaled Aban) .... I made a mistake and am very sorry."
On whether Khaled would go ahead with the pageant, Chow said: "What do you think after your newspaper carried the article yesterday?"
Pressed further, Chow said Khaled could not be contacted since yesterday and that potential sponsors - whom he declined to name - had all pulled out after the story broke.
The Malay Mail reported yesterday that the unregistered events firm, headed by Australian Khaled, was planning the pageant using Sophie, who holds 22 teen beauty pageant titles, as the showpiece lure.
Young girls are told to streak ahead of their friends and live their dreams in the world of acting and modelling.
Khaled and his pals have taken to Facebook to create a buzz about the quest and his website originating from the UK shows photos of 30 Asian teenagers, including supposedly Malaysians, with 12 of the girls pictured said to be under the age of 16.
The report launched a debate about sexualisation of young girls with readers urging the authorities to take action against the events firm.
Sophie, when asked if she viewed the move as an attempt to sexualise teenage girls here, said: "I'm not doing interviews for newspapers anymore."
She said she would alert her manager to get the matter sorted out.
Several readers noted that Sophie was a tragic consequence of bad parenting and agreed with The Malay Mail that such a pageant would erode good, respectable values and diminish well meant religious belief.
Criticisms were also heaped on Sophie and her 39-year-old mother who gave the little girl her blessings to sleep with four boys in six months in their house.
The mother was also ridiculed for allowing Sophie to have piercings in her ear, nose and belly button,  flowers inscribed on her tummy, her name written on her wrist and inked-on eyeliner, lip liner, a fake beauty mark and her eyebrows tattooed with makeup.

Miss Teen Malaysia Is Being Planned?...Read On...

Teen pageants and perverts
Frankie D'Cruz / The Malay Mail
REPRINT Today's ruffle spits upon the names Sophie Watson (pic), a 14-year-old tattooed girl from England who drinks, parties and has sex, her beauty therapist mum, Joy, who has given her the blessings to do so and TeensInAsia.com, a local events firm that is headlining Sophie's riotous image to sexualise teenage girls here.
The portrait of Sophie, a "very modern" girl who holds 22 teen beauty pageant titles, is being used by a downright daft TeensInAsia.com to entice young girls here to streak ahead of their school friends and live their dreams in the world of acting and modeling.
The unregistered firm, headed by Australian Khaled Aban is planning an online Miss Teen Malaysia contest using Sophie as the showpiece lure.
It is idiotically excited about Sophie - who sleeps with boys, drinks alcohol, and has two tattoos, nine body piercings and a face full of permanent make-up.
Khaled and his pals have taken to Facebook to create a buzz about the planned beauty quest for girls below age 18 but it is his website originating from the UK that is gratuitous.
Call it a shop window for sex maniacs because it features girls under the age of 18 with details of their cup measurements as well as hip and waist sizes.
The site shows photos of 30 Asian teenagers, including supposedly Malaysians, with 12 of the girls pictured under the age of 16. Two of them are just 13 years old!
Obviously, these little ones are not fully aware of the consequences of exposure like this.
And quite clearly, they registered without parental consent.
Fortunately, it was when parental consent was sought that The Malay Mail was alerted to Khaled's sexualisation of children.
A frantic Kularaja Mahendran, an accountant, brought it to my notice after his 16-year-old daughter asked to enter the quest.
His chief worry: such spectacles would negate efforts by parents to preserve their daughters' innocence.
Hopefuls were given a link to Sophie's Facebook where in some photos she wears nothing but heavy make-up, a black lace teddy and bondage-style spike heels.
In others, she tugs provocatively at her tiny unzipped hot pants.
There is little about Sophie's appearance to suggest her true age and it is mind-boggling how her mother could have allowed her child to pose like that.
I connected with Khaled on the pretext of being a potential sponsor and at our first meeting the laid bare his sickening scheme.
His are plans that would without a doubt erode good, respectable values in favour of vacuous individuality and diminish any well meant religious belief.
Khaled was in a great searing, sweating, rambling funk over his aim to prompt parents to allow their teen daughters to "explore, experiment and follow their dreams".
He said the normal boundaries of parenting in Asia should be relaxed. "I'd rather know what my daughter was up to," said Khaled who claims to have two daughters, aged 12 and 16.
After our meeting, I soaked into Sophie, the little tattooed girl who is a tragic consequence of "modern" parenting and the channel to Khaled's abhorrent intentions.
In interviews with British media, Sophie, the reigning Mini Miss UK and Miss Teen Great Britain International Tourism 2010, proudly declared she has:
•Four piercings in her right ear, an 8mm stud and inner-ear piercing in her left, a ring in her nose and two in her belly button.

•Inked-on eyeliner, lip liner, a fake beauty mark and her eyebrows tattooed with makeup.
•Flowers emblazoned on her tummy and her name written on her wrist. Her 39-year-old mum's response: "I see no problem with the procedure."

•Slept with four boys in just six months. Her boyfriends have all been welcomed to spend the night in her room, under her mother's roof. Mum's response: "I may not like the fact she sleeps with boys, but I'd rather know she was doing it safely and under my roof rather than goodness knows where."

•Never been on the pill; Mum's response: "Parents who try to do that are just kidding themselves. Sophie is growing up no faster than any other 14-year-old. The only difference is, I know what she's up to, whereas other parents prefer to be blinkered and naive about it."

•Stopped going to school and is home educated by her mum. Mum's response: "She's an exceptionally bright girl. Sophie wanted to fit more into her days, so she could learn faster and get her career on track. She's not a drop-out."
So, at my second 'sponsorship' meeting with Khaled who came along with his Malaysian partner Alan Chow, I asked them if their scheme bordered on sexualisation of teenage girls: "Doesn't sexualisation of young girls worry you?"
"Don't you think it promotes body image issues, eating malady and early sexual activity?"
"Why would parents allow their child such a jaw-dropping lack of discipline?
"How could you possibly justify such a way of raising your daughter?"
They listened abstractedly as I concluded that sexualised imagery and language was so omnipresent now that children were incessantly confronted by concepts that they are unable to deal with - consciously and emotionally.
Confused, Khaled fumed: "So, are you in or out? We have other sponsors to meet."
What a creep. Every time he opened his mouth he threatened to disappear up his own backside with his incoherent mumblings that never applied a veneer of respectability to young girls.
Mr Khaled, Mr Chow, these are children, not pets.

If India has Femina magazine, Vietnam has its own in Thanh Nien. I have been an ardent follower of this magazine since they did a very good coverage on Miss Universe pageant way back in 2008. This magazine also has been  publishing many beauty pageant news and photos local and international since long time ago.

There is a street in HCM near the Equatorial Hotel where there are two small shops selling old books and magazines and Thanh Nien will be the first publication I scour thoroughly.
