KUALA LUMPUR: Stylo International is set to take the prestigious Ford Models Supermodel of the World Malaysian edition to greater heights.
The search by Stylo Fashion GP will not only be conducted in major cities but will venture into the “jungles” of Malaysia.
“When looking for a supermodel, we realise that beauty in the classic sense is not a prerequisite,” said Stylo International president and chief executive officer Datuk Nancy Yeoh.

There are jewels and gems hidden in places you least expect. We want to bring this opportunity to those girls,’’ she added at a press conference here yesterday.
The winner will be groomed and polished at the newly-opened Stylo Academy where a crash course on deportment, social graces, body alignment, speech, protocol and etiquette will be taught.
Earlier this month, Stylo was awarded the rights to hold the search. Ford Supermodel of the World is an international model search franchise created in 1980 by Eileen Ford, the owner of acclaimed New York-based modelling agency Ford Models.
Yeoh who is also organising chairman revealed that a supermodel advisory board would be set up for the purpose of the search.
“The board will comprise leading personalities in the fashion and media industries as well as brand stalwarts.”
The search begins in January and will be one of the main highlights to the run-up of the KL Formula 1 Grand Prix in April.
The winner will represent Malaysia at the Ford Models Supermodel of the World 30th Anniversary celebrations in New York in August.
The search is also in partnership with Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
Its CEO Datuk Razlan Razali said the Formula 1 race and Ford Supermodel search were two globally-significant events whose diversity in character and target audiences made the partnership unique and exciting.
The search is open to all Malaysian women, aged 18 and above with a minimum height of 175cm. Participants younger than 18 (minimum 14 years) require written parental approval.
