Miss Global International coronation to be spectacular.

The 2010 Miss Global International coronation will be a glamorous showcase of talent, fashion and beauty.
This will include contestants parading colourful national costume and swimwear and evening wear appearances reflecting gowns from world-renowned designers, pageant director and Montego Bay businessman, Lachu Ramchandani said at a press launch at the Hilton Kingston Hotel on Tuesday.
Patron of Miss Global International Pageant 2010 Lorna Golding, wife of Jamaica's prime minister in her address, hailed the pageant as "unique concept". "It provides an excellent opportunity for Jamaica to showcase its tourism products; it is also the only international pageant staged locally which attracts contestants from all over the globe to our beautiful Island, where they will be afforded the opportunity to taste and see what we have to offer our visitors," she said.
The pageant -- now in its sixth year -- is the brainchild of Ramchandani, who told members of the media and other invited guests that the pageant has been dubbed 'beauty for tourism'. He added that it will provide an opportunity for the contestants to experience the best of Jamaica so that they can promote it on return to their respective countries.
Also speaking at the press conference was Claudette Kenlock of the Hilton Hotel, who noted that on coronation night hotel's Ballroom will be further enhanced for the show with dramatic lighting.
Prior to the international pageant in September, there will be the selection of the Jamaican queen scheduled for May 29 at Grand Palladium Resort and Spa in Lucea, Hanover.
Sponsors of both events include Hilton Hotel, Soft Sheen Carson, RETV, Dream Castle Villa, JNN, and Air Jamaica.
Proceeds will go towards the Jamaica Early Childhood Development Foundation with which Mrs Golding is associated.
