Malay-Melanau folk to host male-model contest.

THE Best BCF Male Model contest at this year’s Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF) will be organised by the Malay-Melanau community.
Organising chairman Awang Ali Bahar said the competition was to discover and train good-looking and talented single males aged between 17 to 32 years for singing, dancing, modelling and cultural performances.
He said, if successful, the competition would be an annual event at the festival.
Those interested in participating can obtain the registration forms from Mohamad Anis IIi (019-483 3983), Ibrahim Omar (019-827 6117) and Jamilah Imit (019-877 3383). The closing date for entries is July 10.
The Malay-Melanau section of BCF will have its own stage for cultural performances and 18 stalls to sell and promote food, handicraft and Malay-Melanau fashion items.
There will be cultural performances and shows by live bands from Sibu and other parts of the state during the week-long cultural extravaganza.
A three-night singing competition will also be held from July 17.
This year’s BCF, the biggest annual cultural event in Sibu, will begin on July 16 and end on July 22 at Sibu Town Square.
