Student crowned Tourism Queen 2009. RECAP.

EIGHTEEN-year-old student Eejin Gan was crowned Miss Selangor Tourism Queen 2009, beating 11 other finalists at the event held at Sheraton Subang last week.
Gan received RM3,000, a trophy, crown and RM2,000 worth of sponsored items.
The first runner-up was Evalyn Wong Estinoso while Andrea Cheah was the second runner-up.
They received RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively and vouchers worth RM2,000 for sponsored items, crown and trophy.
Others who made it into the finals were Ashakie Wong, Justina Au Yong, Alison Fong, Angela Chow, Abby Woo, Chew Elaine, Patricia Oh, Evonne Hee and Vins Wong.
The pageant, with the theme “Beauty for Education” charity dinner was organised by Yayasan Wanita Cemerlang.
The foundation’s president Datin Rosalind Lee said the programme was part of its continous efforts to support the less fortunate.
She said since it was founded seven years ago, the foundation has been actively organising various projects and activities to support the needy.
They include skills training, workshops, employment enhancement programmes and fund raising activities to help single mothers and school leavers.
During the event, a cheque for RM60,000 was presented to Montfort Girls Centre, National Autism Society of Malaysia and Ti-Ratana Welfare Centre.
