This pageant is organised by MBQ World Sdn Bhd, and emphasises on the 1Malaysia concept.
The Miss Beauty Queen Malaysia 2010 pageant, which will not feature a swim suit competition or girls sashaying in sexy and revealing clothes, will even see participants wearing 'tudung' (Muslim headscarf).
President of MBQ World, Datuk Molly Malakias Yoshioka, told local newspaper, New Straits Times, that all the states of Malaysia would be represented at the finals, as the winner from each state would be contesting.
The finalists were online applicants.
"We are searching for goodwill ambassadors, who will help the children, promote awareness about the need for clean water, work towards protecting wild animals and the environment as well as encourage non-violence," added Yoshioka.
During the finals, contestants are required to dress in a traditional attire which represents the state they are from.
"The girls will also wear two types of evening gowns. Whatever clothes we provide them for the contest is theirs."
The winner of the pageant will represent Malaysia at the Miss Beauty Queen World Pageant 2010 in Venezuela. She will also swag RM10,000, clothes and a tiara.
The first and second runners up will get RM7,000 and RM5,000 respectively, as well as a set of clothes and a tiara each.
"The winners will also be offered job opportunities."
Unlike other pageants, all the finalists in this beauty contest will join the top three winners in charity and goodwill activities.
