The workshop which took place at Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel attracted participants of various ages and backgrounds, including university students, lecturers, makeup artists, design managers, consultants and a retiree.

"They may wish to take part in beauty pageants, shows, modelling or simply improve their appearance and self-confidence," said Lim, former Miss Malaysia Universe (1990) and Mrs Malaysia World (2004-2005).
Chia said: "There are many beautiful and fantastic Malaysian girls but they do not know how to dress and groom themselves.
"We believe it is time for us to do something to help Malaysian girls improve themselves -- their manners, dressing, makeup and hair," she said.

Chia won the "Guess Timeless Beauty World 2004" and was named Malaysian International Fashion Awards (MIFA) Best Female Model in 2004 and 2005.
The two-day workshop included intense courses on:
- Knowledge management by television presenter, writer and emcee Ben Ibrahim;
- How to be newsworthy by freelance writer Kee Hua Chee;
- Catwalk by Amber Chia and catwalk guru Benjamin Toong;
- Social and dining etiquette by hospitality and service industry consultant Nazimah Ali;
- Hair care by hair stylist Shawn Loong;
- Basic makeup principles and techniques by makeup artist Steven Sunny;
- Public speaking skills by TV presenter, emcee, actress and columnist Daphne Iking;
- Fashion sense and trends by designer Keith Kee;
- Skin care and health by skin care and health expert Dr Victor Chen;
- Art of selecting and testing wine by wine specialist Thomas Guldimann; and
- Lingerie talk by Body Fashion (M) Sdn Bhd
TV3 English newscaster and winner of Miss Malaysia Chinese International 1995/1996 Carol Lee and Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 Levy Li provided beauty tips and advice at a forum.
Cynthia Liew Nyuk Ngo, a 48-year-old participant, said it was never too late for a woman to improve her appearance.
"I'm here for self improvement. I find the programme interesting, especially the catwalk session," said Liew.
The bank manager had travelled from Johor Baru with her 18-year-old daughter Emilia Tan Shui Ling, the youngest participant.
Leong Lai Fong, 64, the oldest participant at the workshop, said she had enjoyed herself and was pleased to have met celebrities at the workshop.
Lecturer Anne Moses, 33, said: "I'm glad that I participated in the workshop. I learnt something new at each session. The most interesting was the catwalk session where we got to try it out ourselves."
Early birds paid RM688 for the two-day workshop.The rest paid RM788.
Some of the participants have indicated that they want to sign up for the next workshop which takes place on Nov 20 and 21, after Chia's confinement period. She is seven months pregnant with her first baby.
"We will have something new for the next workshop. Hopefully we will be able to upgrade it," said Chia.
Lim said they were thinking about adding a dance course to the workshop.
"We may also use different speakers for some of the courses," Lim added.
