THE hunt for the next Estee Lauder stars is now on as the long-awaited Estee Lauder Model Search Contest 2010 returns to give Malaysian beauties a chance to be in the glamorous spotlight and travel to Australia for a photo shoot and a uniquely Australian experience.
The search began on April 27 when the Estee Lauder Model Dream Team hit the road in major cities nationwide to search for two women who embodies the Estee Lauder philosophy – confident, modern and elegant.
All the hopeful candidates have to do is to go to any of the Estee Lauder Model Search roadshow locations and sign up for a chance of a lifetime to win overnight fame and prizes totaling over RM258,000.
As the Estee Lauder philosophy is to be beautiful at any age, this year’s model search, like the last two years, will present two winners — grand prize winner for category A and grand prize winner for category B.

Winners of both categories have so much to look forward to including the Brand Ambassador title for Estee Lauder Malaysia as well as an all-expense paid 6D/5N photography shoot in Australia.
There will also be subsidiary winners for Estee Lauder Model Search Contest 2010: Estee Lauder-Canon Most Photo Perfect, Estee Lauder-Eclipse Most Elegant, and Estee Lauder-Andrews Model Most Promising Catwalk and Estee Lauder Miko Hair Ambassador which is a new special title.
The Estee Lauder Model Search Contest 2010 will be held at eight locations in six major cities nationwide – Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Penang, Malacca, Ipoh and Johor Bahru – from now untill July 11.
To qualify for the search, contestants will have to purchase a RM280 Estee Lauder Model Search 2010 Portrait Package that will entitle them to a full makeover by an Estee Lauder makeup artist, professional hair styling by Miko Hair Studio & Academy, wardrobe styling by eclipse, one instant A4 portrait photograph and a RM230 redemption voucher of Estee Lauder products.
From there, the Estee Lauder Model Search Contest 2010 panel of judges will select the semi-finalists for both categories to take part in an online voting competition.
The panel of judges, comprising industry experts, are Estee Lauder Malaysia brand general manager Katrina Liew; Andrew Tan of Andrews Models; renowned celebrity fashion stylist Weechee; popular actor and model Steve Yap; the creative genius behind the eclipse fashion brand, Sonny San; Malaysia International Fashion Alliance (MIFA) Female Model of the Year 2009, Tinie; Miko Hair Studio & Academy founder Miko; Tourism Australia general manager for South, South East-Asia and Gulf countries Maggie White, and Canon’s Image Communication Products Division assistant director Simon Wong.
A minimum of three semi-finalists from each location will be picked for the two categories and each one of them will have their professional photographs posted on the Estee Lauder Model Search 2010 official website for online votes.
The judges will also vote for their favourites, and eight contestants with the highest votes from each category will then proceed to the final round.
Emcees: Nazrudin Rahman, also known as Naz, and Daphne Iking helmed the show.Then, the search will take an interesting twist with a special wild card round.
During this round, the panel of judges will deliberate and pick two contestants from each category to join the others in the final round, which will be held in Suria KLCC on July 13.
To help them show off their model moves, all finalists will be given a one-day catwalk training from professional modeling gurus of Andrews Models.
They will then be judged based on their beauty, walk, style and overall ability to model during the finals whereby the grand prize winners from both categories A and B will be unveiled.
Winners from each category will take home Estee Lauder Malaysia Brand Ambassador title, an all-expense paid 6D/5N professional photography session with Canon and experience a uniquely “Aussie experience”, a seven-page beauty spread in Malaysia’s top fashion magazines – Cleo, The Malaysian Women’s Weekly, Cosmopolitan andCittabella, Estee Lauder products worth RM10,000, Eclipse shopping vouchers worth RM1,500, a model’s portfolio worth RM2,000 and RM1,000 worth of hairstyling services at Miko Hair Studio.
The other finalists won’t go home empty handed either — all finalists take home an Estee Lauder hamper worth RM1,000.
