KUCHING: Miss Yung Kong Bosch 2010, Chai Xin Hui, 17, almost made a clean sweep of the subsidiary titles at the pageant finals yesterday.
Chai, a student, won the grand prize of RM3,000 cash, RM3,000 worth of prizes, a tiara and a bouquet of flowers.
The 159-cm tall girl took home the Miss Sporty, Miss Talent and Miss Posture, each of which brought her RM500 in cash and prizes worth RM500.
On Saturday evening, Chai was also named the Miss Conelli 2010 during the Miss Conelli subsidiary title event.
That evening, the finalists went through a round of catwalk and talent show at tHe Spring.
The event drew a large crowd, especially shutterbugs who wanted to practise their skills while enjoying the show.
Two other titles – Miss Conelli Posture and Miss Conelli Talent – went to Judy Goh and Tania Sim, respectively.
The remaining two subsidiary titles namely Miss Friendship and Miss Scent (voted by the audience) went to Anglia Hendry and Lie See Luan respectively. Each of them won RM500 in cash and prizes worth RM500.
Anglia also won Miss Waterhouse Sports Beauty title, taking home a RM300 Crown Square cash voucher and a bouquet of flowers.
Second place of the pageant went to Anna Bong. She won RM2,000 cash, RM2,000 worth of prizes, a tiara and a bouquet of flowers. She also won Miss Hills and Miss Eyesight Optic 2010 title.
Third place went to Rita Berry. She won RM1,000 cash, RM1,000 worth of prizes, a tiara and a bouquet of flowers.
The finals of the pageant held at Yung Kong Hardware Store saw the 20 finalists performing a welcoming dance, an introduction session, answering technical questions during the Question and Answer session, catwalk with Bosch products and talent presentation.
Goh also won the Miss Sweetie title, based on votes from newspaper companies. She garnered 872 votes and won herself RM500 cash and RM500 worth of Bosch product. She also won Miss Sub Eyewear 2010 title and second place in Miss Photogenic with RM300 cash plus gifts worth RM300, a bouquet of flowers and her framed photo.
First and third place of Miss Photogenic were won by Ting Wei Pin and Phang Siaw Ling respectively. They took home RM500 cash plus gifts worth RM500 and RM200 cash plus gifts worth RM200 respectively plus a bouquet of flowers and their framed photos.
Present to grace the event and present the prizes yesterday were Batu Kawah assemblyman Tan Joo Phoi and Yung Kong general manager, Henry Hii.
